9 Best Yoga with Adriene Videos


It’s no secret I’m a big fan of Yoga with Adriene! If you’re never heard of Adriene Mishler, she is a yoga teacher from Texas with an awesome YouTube channel filled with free yoga videos. She was featured this year on Greatist’s 100 Most Influential People in Health and Fitness and “Yoga with Adriene” was the most searched workout on Google for 2015.

Did you want to try out Yoga with Adriene, but didn’t know where to begin? I totally get that because she has an overwhelming number of videos on her channel!

Or maybe you are in the mood to mix up your at home workout routine, or stretch your home yoga practice in a new direction. Here are my picks for the 9 best Yoga with Adriene videos! I’ve included a link to the video, a brief description and the length of the video in parenthesis.  There’s something for everyone, I promise! 🙂

1 – Morning Yoga – Gentle Morning Sequence

Using one of Adriene’s favorite words, this video is yummy! It’s short and sweet and truly gentle just like the title says. Just a little stretching and movement to get the blood flowing and start your day. Also, would be an excellent pick for someone brand new to yoga.

2 – Yoga for Daily Neck Relief

I carry a lot of my stress in the neck and shoulders. Do you have a similar struggle? I have done this video so many times and find that it really helps. Another great option for beginner/newbie yogis, it is short and it is done while standing the whole time. It’s also extra neat because it is part of a “silent” yoga series – so it is a black and white video, set to music, just like an old timey silent movie! There are a few written instructions on the screen, so it might be helpful to watch and read the first time you view the video, and then do the moves on your second viewing.

3 – Cat-Cow Yoga Pose

Cat-cow is one of my all time favorite yoga poses! It just feels so good! If I only did one movement every day, this might be it. This video is part of Adriene’s Foundations of Yoga video series, which breaks poses down into great detail. If you have never done a cat-cow before, I hope you’ll give it a try! It’s really good for your spine, and what’s good for your spine is great for the rest of your body!

4 – Yoga for Wrist Pain

I tried this video on the day it was first released. I’ll be honest, I almost skipped it, and I almost didn’t finish it! I thought, what’s the point? Do I really want to spend 22 minutes on my wrists? The answer is YES!! Please give this video a try, whether you struggle with wrist pain or not (I do, to a small degree). I was amazed by how much I learned about the foundations of yoga in this brief video. And I was sore for days, in muscles I have never felt before!

5 – Yoga for Gratitude

The description for this video says it is sweet and calming and I have to agree. It’s really special. If you are struggling in any area of your life – from work, to parenting, to finances or your marriage – please find the time to try this video. I may have shed a few tears the first time I did this one. It gave me a nice workout physically, but also healed my heart and lifted my spirits.

6 – 30 Days of Yoga

The 30 days of yoga series (originally released in January 2015) lifted me out of a funk and inspired me to start this blog! You can find my full review in this post. There is no yoga in this video, it’s just an introduction from Adriene with helpful tips and tricks. 30 days of yoga is for all levels so there’s no excuse not to give it a try! And no, you don’t have to complete it in 30 days, I sure didn’t!

7 – YogaCamp

YogaCamp – Welcome Orientation (4:19)

YogaCamp began on January 1, 2016 and was one of my 2016 goals! YogaCamp is like 30 Days of Yoga, but even better! For this 30 day series, you will address not just the physical aspects but also your mental and emotional wellness. Each day is paired with a mantra such as “I accept,” “I create,” and “I am alive.” It’s powerful stuff! This is the welcome video, so you won’t be getting on the mat just yet. Again, don’t pressure yourself to complete YogaCamp in 30 straight days. I have actually fallen behind myself, and that’s just real life! 🙂 Do what you can, when you can.

8 – Power Yoga

This is the video to pick if you want to push yourself and break a series sweat! Power yoga is a style of yoga that is more fitness-based, so this is great for yogis or non-yogis who have strength building, fitness, or weight loss goals. I couldn’t finish it the first time through, but I want to keep building my strength and endurance and try it again! This intense video is actually part of a course Adriene offers for sale called Empower. It’s refreshing to watch/do because it was filmed outside.

9 – Crow Pose | How To Do Crow Pose

Crow pose is a challenging arm balance for yogis who are at an intermediate level, or higher. This video breaks the video down in great detail and Adriene walks you through baby steps to completing the pose. Full disclaimer: I have not mastered this pose yet, even though it’s on my 2016 goals post! Adriene is really encouraging and helps yogis keep toxic thoughts from taking over if they don’t get crow pose on the first try. Even full-er disclaimer: Adriene had me feeling so positive the first time I tried this video that I actually fell flat on my face! 🙂

  9. I have not done Yoga since I was pregnant with my first child – that was over 5 years ago. I have found that reformer Pilates is more my kind of exercise – has some yoga involved too!
