Earn free money online? Sounds like a scam!
No really! There are ways to earn free money online – from your computer, smartphone, or ipad. With the holidays quickly approaching, it’s a great time to start earning a little extra cash to put towards gifts!
I personally have had great success earning money online using Swagbucks! I almost exclusively redeem my Swagbucks for Amazon.com giftcards, but I have also used them for giftcards to CVS, and Target.
I first learned about Swagbucks from the Money Saving Mom blog. I was searching for ideas to save money and be more frugal in general. Swagbucks kept coming up, and even though I was wary at first (is this some kind of scam?), I decided to give it a try!
I have been a Swagbucks member since July 25th 2013! Click here if you want to join me! Or read on if you need more persuading … 🙂
In 2015 alone I have redeemed $220 in Amazon.com giftcards from Swagbucks, and I still have about $58 worth that I am waiting to cash in. I was more active in 2013 and 2014 and earned even more!
I am putting those real numbers out there only to show that this is not a scam. Lot’s of Swagbucks users do much better than me – but it really depends on how much time you want to spend using it. I prefer using it lightly lately, but have spent more time on it in the past when I was saving up for something in particular.
My favorite ways to earn are through the Swagbucks mobile apps (there are several). I play videos on the apps and earn bucks! This can be a drain on my phone battery, so I typically only do it when I am able to have my phone plugged in. I also take the daily poll every day – earning 1 Swagbuck. I also play Swagbucks videos on my ipad.
There are a million other ways to earn and I could write so much about this (if you’re interested let me know!). There are games to play, surveys to take, coupons to print, a shop and earn program that is similar to ebates, and much more! They always seem to be rolling out new programs and features. I encourage you to play around and find what works best for you.
I have bought everything from diapers to beauty products to household goods like aluminum foil and sponges with Swagbucks! I bought most of my oldest son’s first Christmas and first birthday presents with Swagbucks (a Fisher Price corn popper, several books, a toy piano, a toy drum, etc.).
When we bought our first home at the end of July, I had saved up a ton of Swagbucks for the occasion and I used them to decorate one of our bathrooms – I bought rugs, a pretty shower curtain (and shower curtain rings and a liner) and a whole set of towels!
When I was interested in starting a blog, I cashed in a bunch of Swagbucks for a big pile of blogging related books! Getting a big box of brand new books in the mail is pretty fun in my opinion!
I have heard of Swagbucks users redeeming their bucks for PayPal giftcards and then using the money to pay bills. Other Swagbucks users are all about treating themselves (which is great!) and get Starbucks giftcards, or buy silly things at Target (like makeup, magazines, candy) that they wouldn’t normally be purchasing because money is tight.

I hope you’ll give it a try! If you had my $220 to spend on Amazon.com, what would you buy?
