Inspiration To Help You Set The Best Goals For An Amazing 2017!

Facebooktwittergoogle_pluspinterest

New Year’s Eve is a little over three weeks away, but it will sneak up on us fast! It’s one of my favorite times of year, and I have always loved setting New Year’s resolutions. These days I’m more likely to talk about goals than resolutions, but I really think they are one and the same! Are you a resolution maker or a goal setter? If you haven’t sat down to think about 2017 yet, I want to offer you a little encouragement and inspiration today. Let’s take some time to think about 2017, before the holiday craziness of 2016 totally takes over!

inspiration to help you set the best goals for 2017

I already did a little wishin’ and hopin’ about 2017 but I haven’t officially written my goals for the new year yet. I enjoyed having a list of goals for 2016 and checking in on my progress regularly. I believe I achieved a lot because of my goal setting efforts.

While I had goals for 2016, I kind of wrote them haphazardly, on New Year’s Eve. I was honestly motivated in a negative way by all of the ways I was unhappy with my life. After everything I learned in 2016, I want to take a much more thoughtful approach to planning out the year ahead.

I will be very intentional with how I enter 2017 so it can be an amazing year – and you can too! Below I am sharing two excellent YouTube videos and one awesome blog post that recently caught my attention. All three will inspire you and guide you as you set your best goals ever for an amazing 2017! I hope you will join me! 🙂

Inspiration To Help You Set The Best Goals For An Amazing 2017

Here are your three resources that will take your 2017 goal setting to the next level. I also share the biggest takeaway I got from each video/post so you can decide which one you’d like to click first! Enjoy, and start getting excited about January! 🙂

#1 4 Things To Do Before 2017 by Angel Richardson

Angel is a life coach I recently discovered via YouTube. She is super positive and encouraging and I keep going back to her videos lately when I need a mental boost.

Key Takeaway: Angel asks you to look at the goals you didn’t accomplish in 2016 and think about why you didn’t accomplish them. She encourages you to look at your mindset surrounding those goals that you didn’t achieve in the last year. Then get to work on changing those mindsets! A better mindset will lead to more goals achieved.

#2 Review Your Year in 3 Simple Steps by Marie Forleo

Marie is a total powerhouse of a woman. Her tagline is “create a business and life you love” and she is not only smart and inspiring but also really quirky and hilarious.

Key Takeaway: Don’t just think about goals and to do’s for 2017, also think about things that you could let go of in 2017. Guilt, shame, embarrassments, resentments, goals that no longer align with who you are now or who you want to be in the future. Free yourself of the crap that doesn’t serve you!

#3 How to Plan Your Best Year Ever by Natalie Bacon/FinanceGirl

FinanceGirl is a money, career and lifestyle blog for young professional women. I happen to be subscribed to Natalie’s email list and couldn’t resist opening the email with a subject line promising me she’d help me plan my best year ever. It was a worthwhile open and a worthwhile click over to her blog post!

Key Takeaway: Out of her 5 steps, I love #5 the most – set up systems for your best year ever! A calendar, deadlines, monthly check-in reminders, etc.! I love this idea and will be using this tip for 2017 for sure.

Stay tuned for my 2017 goals! I will most likely share them on New Year’s Eve, or New Year’s Day! 🙂

Good luck with your 2017 goal setting! Share a goal in the comments below!
