Earn Money Just Walking Around | Panel App Review

Facebooktwittergoogle_pluspinterest

If you’re anything like me, you are never far from your smartphone. Everywhere you go it’s in your pocket, in your purse, or perpetually glued to your hand.

Sound familiar? If you are BFF’s with your smartphone, you should consider downloading the Panel app. It’s a rewards app that lets you earn cash and prizes by just walking around with your phone. That’s it. No games to play, no videos to watch, no long involved rules to follow. Okay, there are occasional, super short surveys to take, but those are optional! Of all the money-earning apps I use this one is the easiest!

Here’s my review of the Panel app by Placed, Inc.

Simple To Use

Panel is available on both Android and iPhone. It is a free app.

Using Panel is simple – download the free app, and follow the directions for turning on your location services. Then carry on with life! You earn points for every day that you have the app on your phone.

Panel collects data on your location as you move about. Points accumulate daily. Every few days, you may receive a survey. The surveys are very basic, just asking you to choose where you were at a certain date and time, from a list of multiple choices.

These were hilarious to do at first, because I am such a sleep deprived mom. Where was I Tuesday at 10 am? I have NO CLUE! πŸ˜‰ Eventually I did notice that they include a small map at the top of the survey so I could easily identify my location. Also, some surveys may ask if you made a purchase at a particular location. It took the Panel app about 5 surveys about whether I bought cat food while I was at Walmart to register that I do not currently have a cat. Complete the surveys and you earn bonus points!

Choose Your Reward

Earn points, then redeem them for the reward of your choice, or enter a sweepstakes.

My first reward from the Panel app was a $2 PayPal payment. Yep, THAT $2. πŸ™‚ $2 seems minor, but I literally didn’t do anything other than carry my phone around, which I always do anyway!

Panel recently moved from PayPal payments to VISA giftcard payments, which is still a great option. You can also redeem points for Amazon.com, iTunes, and the Google Playstore.

It’s Not For You If …

There are a few things about the Panel app that might not be for everyone. Since Panel uses GPS and the app needs to run constantly in the background, it will wear down your phone’s battery as the day goes on. If you’re not great about remembering to charge your phone, you might want to skip this one!

Panel tracks your location, for the purposes of analyzing data. For some, this is a little too “big brother.” Opt out at any time by uninstalling the app.

Have you tried the Panel app?

  10. I had no idea there was such an app. Not sure if it’s too Big Brother to me, but I’m definitely thinking about it. I kind of like the idea of getting paid to walk around and do things I have to do anyway. Hmmm…

  20. I downloaded this app recently and thought that it was a little intrusive. But then again I have a pretty boring life. Anyone that collects data from me would fall asleep. Still wondering when it will pay out though.

    • I’m pretty boring too Melanie! πŸ˜‰ It was a few months to my first pay out. I didn’t mind though, since I didn’t have to do much to earn!

  21. Erin, I downloaded the app as soon as I read your post. I don’t care about Big Brother, they really want to know what I’m up to then they can find out. I’m sure they already know as there are cameras everywhere. And they can track my phone whenever they want to and I wouldn’t know about it. So if they want the information I might as well earn some money to allow them to Snoop around in my stuff. Right? It was easy to set up, so far I have a 175 points. I’ll take it, free money is my bag. Thanks for letting me know about it.

  23. I’ve tried the Panel app before. Had no idea it was tracking physical activity too. Makes me think I should maybe set it up again and go for a walk. Maybe… πŸ˜‰
