Date Ideas for Tired Parents – with Groupon Coupons!

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post, but all opinions are my own.

Date night has not been a priority in our budget and my marriage is feeling it! The cost of going out – from dinner and a tip to movie tickets and a babysitter – always feels so extravagant in a year where we are trying to get out of debt.

Our 5th wedding anniversary came and went without much fanfare. I had set as one of my 2016 goals to do something really special for the occasion. Instead, we had lunch at a Mexican restaurant while Grandma babysat for free. Money is a concern, but when you have an 18 month old and a threenager, you’re also just TIRED! Brainstorming date ideas is not high on the priority list after sleepless nights with teething toddlers. Such is life with young kids when you are trying to be frugal!

Had I known about Groupon Coupons, things might have gone a little differently! Here are my best date night ideas for (tired) parents that are more affordable thanks to Groupon!

Romantic Groupon Coupon Date Ideas

Classic Dinner Date

Take a shower, dress up for the first time in a long time (just me?), and enjoy an adult dinner out. Check Groupon for deals at your favorite restaurant. This date might seem boring to some, but I’d love some good food and good conversation (about something other than potty training). Bonus points for candlelight!

Relax at a Spa

Couples massage anyone? I have only had a few massages in my life but they were worth every penny! It’s the most relaxed I ever feel – something parents definitely deserve! You could also choose to do facials, manicures, pedicures, some time in a sauna, or all of the above! Check Groupon for the best spa deals in your area and get ready for some pampering.

Act Like Kids Again

What does your area have to offer that will bring out your inner child? Groupon has tons of local deals to scour. Maybe you take your sweetie to the batting cages or get competitive at the go cart track? Do you have one of those cool indoor trampoline places in your neighborhood? Or maybe mini golf followed by ice cream cones? Get in touch with your younger, more carefree self and re-connect with your spouse too! 🙂

The Ultimate Tired Parent Date

This might not be the cheapest option, but it’s the best idea I have ever heard – A HOTEL NAP! Did any other exhausted moms swoon or is it just me? 🙂 Use Groupon coupons to book a great deal on a hotel room through Hotels.com. Go to the hotel, order some room service, eat, and then sleep. That’s it. Sleep, glorious, sleep. Okay, maybe some other romantic stuff too if you’re up for it, but seriously, enjoy a full night’s sleep away from your babies! Best. Date. Ever.

Single?

Groupon still has you covered! Find deals on dating sites like eHarmony and Match.com!

    • Yum Helen! I have never been to the Melting Pot but I have always wanted to go! Glad Groupon made it a little more affordable for you 🙂

  4. LOVE!!! Hubs and I had a couples massage a few years ago and it was incredible! Definitely on the spendy side, so thank goodness we had a gift card. I’d love to do that again, so I’ll check out the coupons! Thanks! And a hotel nap – AWESOME!!!

  5. Thanks for sharing. I feel ya, it is hard to make dating a priority when you are trying to save money. We too, are trying to get out of debt and have young kids. Sometimes date night just consists of letting the kiddos stay at Grandma’s house while we eat guacamole for supper and watch Netflix. If you would have told me 10 years ago I would consider pajamas and Netflix a hot date, I would have said “no way”. lol

  6. Once I read an idea to serve spaghetti without silverware, as a funny intimate date. That would work well with #2. Like the spa idea too. They do it on The Bachelor.

  7. Love this! We used groupon once for a date night to a ski resort and also a family vacation to niagara falls. It was great, although I may do a bit more research next time on hotel reviews!
